It is with great disappointment that we must cancel the Reach for the Stars dinner and auction this weekend. Although we initiated a vigorous advertising campaign on Facebook, community calendars, and on the radio, we just did not establish the numbers necessary to have a successful event. We suspect the timing of this particular weekend was most likely to blame.
What of the auction items?
Look for an online auction to be announced soon. EVERYONE in the area will now have the opportunity to bid!
Will you reschedule Reach for the Stars?
We have not yet decided. We may just wait until next year to try again.
When is the next event?
If the weather cooperates, we hope you will join us on Saturday May 19th for the Crescents and Croissants Star Party.
You are cordially invited to the 1st Annual Reach for the Stars Fundraiser Dinner and Auction for Branched Oak Observatory. The event will be held at the Hot Spot Party Room 9mi north of the I-80/180 interchange.
Attendees will enjoy a casual Italian meal (lasagna, breadsticks, and salad), prepared by Raymono's Pizza Plus and one free drink ticket for a soft or alcoholic beverage of your choice (cash bar available for additional drinks).
Before the live auction there will be a silent auction for over a dozen themed baskets and other individual items.
During dinner, you will enjoy the classic rock sounds of Lincoln's favorite band- The Smokin Toads, as well as a photo show featuring astronomical imagery and pictures of events, taken from Branched Oak Observatory.
